Backstreet Boys Concert at the Sphere – Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

Published: Aug 21, 2025 by Travel & Chai · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Imagine standing in the middle of the world's most advanced concert venue, the walls and ceiling transforming into a snow-covered desert, a blooming garden, or a neon galaxy - all perfectly synced to your favorite Backstreet Boys hits (which are being performed live in front of you).

The Sphere in Las Vegas doesn't just host a concert; it swallows you whole in a visual and sonic experience unlike anything you've seen before.

Whether you're a die-hard BSB fan or simply curious about the Sphere, here's everything you need to know to plan your visit, plus our honest take after experiencing it not one, but two nights in a row.

Why This Isn't Just Another Concert

If you're picturing a standard "band on stage, screens in the back" setup, erase that. The Sphere's wraparound screen and immersive audio make this a full-sensory production - every single song gets its own bespoke visual backdrop.

    • "Shape of My Heart" turns the venue into an enchanted garden, petals floating around you as the guys croon. (This was visually our favorite song of the evening.)
    • "Siberia" paints a vast snowy desert, the Boys' faces carved into a mountain like a boy band Mount Rushmore.
    • "The Call" flashes a real phone number - dial it, and you're entered into a same-night meet-and-greet draw. (Yes, people actually win.)

The whole thing runs under 2 hours. No intermission. No wasted moments. Even the banter is scripted and polished - so if you're going two nights in a row, expect déjà vu… in the best way.

    Quick Facts

📍 Venue: Sphere Las Vegas, 255 Sands Ave.
    🎤 Duration: ~1 hr 45 mins
🎟 Tickets: Prices vary wildly by section; buy early for best choice. (Though there are some good deals to be had on last minute purchases.)
    🪑 Best Seats:

    • Visual Immersion: Mid-level, central sections (e.g., 105-107). Generally, the 200s and 300s are considered the most immersive seats for the Sphere Experience (giving you the best views of the dome), but this does move you further away from the actual performance.
    • Band Interaction: Floor level (standing only), slightly off-center.

🚪 Doors Open: 90 mins before showtime. The Backstreet Boys come out at around 8.40pm.
    📸 Photography: Allowed
Food & Drink: Prices are predictably Vegas-high so it's best to eat before you go.
Merch: Available in multiple spots inside the venue as well as at a pop-up in the Grand Canal Shoppes. Note: There is some exclusive merchandise available only at the concert venue.

    What to Expect

If you're hoping for surprises, you won't find them here - and honestly, that's part of the charm. The Backstreet Boys perform the same setlist every night, right down to the jokes between songs. It's a tight, choreographed, and perfectly polished show lasting less than two hours.

    Here's the vibe:

    • The Hits Are All Here - I Want It That Way, Everybody, Larger Than Life, As Long As You Love Me, and more.
    • Visual Storytelling - Each song has its own custom Sphere background.
    • No Dead Air - Scripted banter keeps things moving, but expect the same lines night after night.
    • High Energy - Yes, they still dance (honestly, maybe better than before!). Yes, they still nail the harmonies.
    • A Sea of White - AJ released an Instagram reel asking fans to dress in white or "millenium blue". It's not essential, but it's a fun way to be a part of the crowd.

Our Night 1 vs. Night 2 Experience

We went twice - partly because we couldn't resist, and partly because, well… it's the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere.

    • Night 1: Full sensory overload. We were too busy gasping at the visuals to fully take in every song. The crowd was electric, and yes, people were dressed like it was 1999 again (mostly in white!).
    • Night 2: The comfort of knowing what's coming made it feel more intimate. We noticed little details - the on-stage off-mic banter between the boys, the synchronized lighting cues that hit on every beat.

Both nights were incredible, but if you're a superfan, a second visit will let you appreciate the artistry beyond the spectacle.

Of course, as these are live performances there were some differences in the vocals from night to night. We found Brian's performance to be much better on the second night (which happened to be his wife's birthday).

    Who is the best performer?

Your mileage will vary greatly depending on your personal tastes, and since all of 5 boys are great performers, there's an argument to made for each one being the best performer. Nick and Brian are the lead vocals of the group, while Kevin brings a calm cool energy to the stage, and Howie brings his own brand of smooth.

In our opinion however, AJ is the overall best performer with a mix of dynamic showmanship, powerful vocals, and audience interaction.

How to Make the Most of the Backstreet Boys Sphere Experience

Book Early - Popular sections sell out fast. But with dates announced into February 2026, now is the perfect time to book!
Arrive on Time - There's no opening act, so you don't want to miss the first song. (While the show officially begins at 8pm with some very minor visuals, the actual performances don't start until around 8.40pm)
Charge Your Phone - You'll want photos and videos.
Go Upstairs - If you want to buy a drink or some merchandise at the Sphere, go up to the second or third levels. The stalls here are much less crowded with little to no line-ups.
Dress for Comfort - It's air-conditioned inside, but you'll be walking a lot before and after. Even in the seated sections, most fans are standing for the majority of the show.
Stay Nearby - The Venetian, Palazzo, or Wynn are within walking distance. With the Venetian and the Palazzo, you can walk from your hotel to the Sphere without ever having to step outside (and we recommend this, because Vegas is hot!).

    The Call Phone Number

A phone number is repeatedly shown on screen during The Call. If you want to try your luck at winning and Meet & Greet the Backstreet Boys, here's the number to dial: 702-827-2847.

When you call, you'll hear a familiar voicemail message, and then receive a text asking for your details in order to be entered into the draw.

    The After Party

If you're interested in attending the afterparty at Voltaire, make sure to go on a Saturday (even if your show is on a different day). The Saturday after party is the only night that the Backstreet Boys have actually committed to attending (though they do occasionally attend other nights too).

    • Not all the Backstreet Boys are guaranteed to attend on any night. And there's no schedule for who will host the party on which date.
    • A table close to the catwalk would be the best spot if you're looking for interaction and a great view.
    • When attending, the Backstreet Boys typically arrive between midnight and 1am.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

Absolutely. The Backstreet Boys' Sphere residency is a perfect collision of nostalgia and innovation. It's not just hearing your favorite songs...seeing the Backstreet Boys at The Sphere is like stepping into a nostalgia-fueled music video - except surrounded by 17,000 other people singing every word.

The combination of pitch-perfect vocals, sharp choreography, and the Sphere's mind-bending visuals makes this a must-see whether you've been a fan for 30 years or just appreciate a well-executed live show.

It's the Backstreet Boys - but bigger, brighter, and bolder than you've ever seen them before.
